The Parmida LED Technologies 4FT LED Direct Wire Type B T8 tube can be installed by a simple bypass of the ballast. This tube can be installed with a single-ended or dual-ended connection and it can install directly into your fixture’s original shunted sockets (tombstones), eliminating the need to retrofit your fixture with non-shunted sockets. These lights use only 24W to emit 3200 lumens (equivalent to 55W in fluorescent tubes), making them extra bright and energy efficient.

Ballast Bypass: These tubes must be installed using the ballast bypass method. Use the instructions provided to remove the ballast from your fixtures and directly wire your new T8 tubes.

Poor Quality

We order a lot of led bulbs from here and we have to inspect every single bulb before it is installed. They arrive with either broken glass tubes or the ends just fall right off.

Produces RF interference

I replaced my fluorescent lights in my basement with these 24W type B bulbs. They provide great light and two bulbs produce as much light as four of the T12 fluorescent bulbs. However, when they are in use, my antenna VHF TV reception goes to pot from their RF interference. Lights are on separate circuits than the TV and I have shielded cable from the antenna in the attic to the TV on the first floor. Does not seem to have the same effect on my UHF channels or my radio receiver, so likely just impacts certain frequencies. While they are certified by UL and RoHS for safety, they are not listed as being certified by the FCC for RF emissions. I have no idea if they would impact cable TV reception. Just a caution for anyone who uses an antenna for their TV reception. Fortunately I usually don't need the lights in my basement when I am watching TV, so will keep them for their good light properties. I would welcome Parmida representatives to address this in their reviews if I am incorrect in my assessment.
